Bow-Wow
Atelier Bow-wow is
an architectural studio formed in 1992 by
Yoshiharu Tsukamoto and Momoyo Kaijima that
champions site and use-specific design.Tsukamoto
and Kaijima create what they call ‘da-me’
(‘no-good’) architecture that
consists of multi-layered structures with
a variety of uses. Their practice epitomizes
a new creative, adaptive aesthetic that has
been identified as being an architectural
style specific to Tokyo.
Their work for Sydney’s Object Gallery
will use the workshops and lectures in Melbourne
as a springboard for new video works and structural
forms to create a larger installation.

Teruya
At Object Gallery
Teruya will exhibit an Australian version
of his celebrated Notice Forest works, recently
seen at the Yokohama Triennale. He creates
hidden forests by meticulously cutting out
shapes in locally sourced paper shopping bags.
Teruya’s works make a potent comment
on our consumer society, articulated with
a deft and controlled hand. |
