works Tokyo. Doctor of Engineering from
University of Tokyo. Currently Associate
Professor at Tohoku University, and Adjunct
Professor at Tokyo National University of
Fine Arts and Music, and Yokohama National
University. His numerous publications include
Owari no Kenchiku / Hajimari no Kenchiku(Architecture
of the end / Architecture the beginning),
Shin-shukyo to Kyodai-kenchiku (New Religions
and Gigantic Architecture), Senso to Kenchiku(War
and Architecture), and Kaboubi Toshi (City
of Excessive Defence). He has also co-authored
Birudingutaipu no Kaibogaku (Anatomy of
Building Types) with Okawa Nobuyuki.

Art Critic for Yomiuri Shimbun Newspaper.
Born 1964, Yamaguchi. Lives and works Tokyo.
Studied Art History at University of Tokyo,
with focus on Buddhist art in Sung Dynasty
in China Joined the daily newspaper Yomiuri
Shimbun 1987. Published Easy Guide to Japanese
Traditional Paintings in 2003.
